Almix Prime In West Bengal
SOP (SYSTEM OF PROCESS / PROCEDURE)
During melting, steel scrap releases oxides and gases that destabilize the bath.
At high temperatures above 1540°C:
-
Oxidation accelerates
-
Increasing FeO content in slag
-
Reducing metal recovery
SKMC Almix Prime reacts instantly with FeO and other oxides by:
-
Improving slag fluidity
-
Breaking slag into a light, foamy, detachable layer
-
Assisting cleaner metal-slag separation
-
Reducing energy demand
-
Improving furnace efficiency
PROCESS GUIDELINES FOR USE
-
Add 2.0–2.5 kg of SKMC Almix Prime per ton of molten metal (adjust according to furnace capacity).
-
Ensure proper temperature (minimum 1600°C) before addition.
-
Add product 5–10 minutes after slag formation begins.
-
Stir the molten bath thoroughly for even distribution.
-
Deduct 1.0–1.5 kg Mn per ton accordingly.
-
Remove FeO in slag using 200 mesh-sized silica powder.
-
For slag-rich FeO, increase dosage slightly for optimal results.
